10 Months Old ...a little late

This post is sooo late. Guess better late than never. Life seems to be quite busy. Caden keeps us very busy. He definitly likes to be constantly moving around and he's very fast as well. At his 10 month birthday he was 21 lbs. 14 oz. Wow! What a big boy. He absolutely loves food :) He is such a good eater. So far he is not seeming picky other than he HATES mashed potatoes. Weird. Right before he turned 10 months he got sick for the first time. Wednesday night he spiked a 103 fever so we took him to the emergency room. They told us that he seemed otherwise healthy so it was probably just a virus. They told us to alternate Tylenol and Motrin every four hours. We did that and the fever broke on Thursday. Then Friday he broke out in a rash. Friday he was also seen by his pediatrician and she confirmed that the rash showed it was viral. A few days later Daddy ran a 103 fever. By Saturday Caden was back to his happy self!
Here are some pictures of our sweet baby boy!
Baby on the move.
While the pictures were being taken Caden thought it would be funny to come crawling to the camera. What a cutie!

He finally stayed put long enough to actually have a picture taken with the bear. He's definitely surpassed the size of the bear.

9 Months Old

Wow...9 months! I believe Caden is growing before our very eyes! He's becoming such a big boy. He is absolutely wonderful too :) Barely cries. Is just a happy baby. What more could we ask for? He went from learning how to crawl to crawling EVERYWHERE! He is also pulling up on EVERYTHING. Before long, I'm sure he'll be cruising along our couch. His bear used to look huge and now he's bigger than him.
At his 9 month appointment he weighed 20 lbs 2 oz and was 28 inches long. He is in the 50% for both height and weight.
He is really starting to "talk." He seems to look talking. I wonder where he got that from???He's got the ba ba ba's down. Daddy thinks he's going to soon be saying da da da.

We are working on eating more green veggies and he's doing better. He has always been a fan of the yellow/orange veggies.

He has such a sweet personality!

More Milestones :)

As I sit and type this update it is so hard for me to belive it, but my baby turned 9 months old today. He is such a joy in our lives. He constantly brings smiles to our faces. We are certainly blessed!

I have been meaning to post this update for over a week. On Tuesday, October 6th I went in to get Caden up from his nap and to my surprise he was standing up. He had pulled himself up in his crib for the very first time. I did not have my camera with him so I kept peeking in before I would go get him in hopes of finding him standing up again to get a picture of it. Finally, two days later, he did it for me and I got some adorable pictures of him. So these are from that Thursday.

Now when we go to get him out of his crib he is standing there waiting on us. It is so cute :) He is starting to do it in other places, but he isn't doing it as consistantly as he is in his crib.

Don't you love this smile?

Later that evening on Oct. 8th while Andy and I were sitting eating dinner Caden was playing on the floor. All of the sudden I looked over and I told Andy, "Look! I think he's crawling!" He had been doing the Army crawl, but on that Thursday he decided to get his belly off the ground and crawl for real!

I'm coming to get you!

There I go...

Off to explore the house!

Modeling for the camera

Guess he's used to his mama taking tons of pictures of him. He certainly doesn't mind!

He has his 9 month check up appointment Thursday morning. I'll post an update after his appointment, as well as his 9 month bear picture.
Hope you are enjoying fall (or winter as it feels like in VA)!

8 Months Old and Welcome to America!!!!!!!

Well, it has been a LONG time since I've updated the blog. So long that we were still in Korea for the last post. Our flight from Korea was fairly flawless. Just a minor incident with luggage. Caden did very well on the flight. The people around us commented that they never saw a baby do so well on such a long flight! We enjoyed about 2 weeks in PA hanging out with family and relaxing. We are now in Virginia and are fairly settled in. The day we moved in Caden got sick :( That was not fun. We were able to get him into the doctor and it was only a yucky chest cold. He is all better now.
Caden is already 8 month old!!!!!! At 8 months he weighed 19 lbs. 2 oz. at his sick dr. visit. He is enjoying a lot of new toys that we had waiting here for him.
Side by Side
Taking my picture isn't as easy anymore.
I was trying to army crawl to mom to get the camera.

I'm getting big!

Look at me sitting in my new high chair.
Don't I look like such a big boy?

On Thursday, Caden got his 3rd tooth. It was the tooth beside his middle left upper tooth. Then Saturday morning when we woke up his two upper middle teeth had broken through. That's 3 teeth in less than 48 hours!!!!! He's not done yet though. He still has one more that is about to break through! Poor baby isn't doing so well with all this teething.

Caden's Faces

Caden is doing great eating baby food so we thought that we would try some finger food. Last week he had a small piece of a saltine that he gagged over. Then we tried a cheerio and he gagged about that too. So this week I bought him some of the Gerber Puffs in the banana flavor. I thought that since he LOVES bananas that maybe he would like these. These are some of the faces we got.

I'm not too sure about this.

Oh my, what a face!

Daddy just gave me another one!
We really think that it is more of a texture issue since he has never had something dry. He is doing progressively better with them. I'm sure he'll get used to them and love them like he does all other food.
On a side note, one more week til we are stateside!

Packin' Up and Movin' Out

Well the time has come to pack up and head back to the States! For me, it is somewhat bittersweet. I am very excited to be coming back to the States, but I have made some friends here that I will definitely miss. For Andy, I think he's 100% ready to be back. This past Friday they came and picked up the bulk of our belongings. Midway through I was sad that I had forgotten to take a picture before they started. After about half our stuff was already packed up. Notice Caden. The movers provided a good bit of entertainment for him.

Bet you can guess what this is? If you said a rocking chair you are most definitely right! This was how they packed and boxed it up to ship it. For things that wouldn't fit in traditional boxes they made a box. I couldn't help myself....I had to have a picture!

Caden and Daddy after the movers left!

Our fairly empty apartment. All that is left in our living area is a few of Caden's toys.

Another view of the emptiness.

My Diaper Baby

Ever since Caden learned to sit up on his own that is all he wants to do. So Thursday evening we spread out his quilt and put a lot of toys on it. Then we sat him on it (with the boppy behind him in case he tumbled over--which rarely happens) and he played for probably an hour. Well he finally played himself out and laid down and went to sleep.

Playing is hard work!

Watch Me Grow 7 Months

It is hard to believe that : 1. Caden is 7 months old today already, 2. Andy and I have been married for 3 years today, and we only have 2 more weeks left in Korea (which will make 2 years that we have lived here). Wow...time flies.

Caden is so much fun! He continues to be such a good baby. He is quite the charmer. We weighed him on our scales the other day and he is approximately 18 lbs.

Look how big I am!

What a cute slobbery smile!

My bear is soooo much fun!

He is offically sitting up on his own (if you sit him up to begin with). Now that he can that is all that he wants to do all day long!

What an onery grin!

Getting excited!

The weather in Korea for the past week has been unbearably hot. Imagine 95 degrees and then tack 100% humidity on top of it. Our solution to the problem was heading to the pool on Saturday. It took us a little while to get there and cost us our car. On our way to the pool the transmission went out of our car:( Why couldn't it have made it 3 more weeks??
This was the first that we were able to swimming since returning to from the states (it has been raining or just ugly weather). Caden definitely enjoyed the break from the heat!

A little Daddy time in the pool

We've Got A Roller!

Well apparently Caden did not like what I posted the other day about him not rolling over from his back to his belly. This evening while Andy and I were making some dinner, Caden was laying under his gym. One of his new favorite toys, a puppy, was laying to his left. He rolled over to get him. I was lucky enough to actually see it happen. He hung out on his belly for a little and then rolled back over to his back. I'm on my belly :)

A little while later he was hanging out having some more playtime and he did it again!

Looking at his play mat from a different view

He also is starting to do really well with sitting up. He is not yet to the point that he can do it on his own, but he is starting the process. He can sit up with either a little support to the back and/or using his arms in front of him to steady him.

Daddy giving his a little support in the back so he doesn't tumble backwards while he is playing with his music block and using it to help steady himself.

Sitting all by himself --- Only using the music block for balance.
It won't be long until he'll be doing it by himself!

My Sippy Cup

About a month ago we started Caden on juice. He loves it! So far he has had apple juice, pear juice, and white grape juice. He is not picky; he loves them all. Well this week we thought that we would try him on a transitional sippy cup. We had fairly low expectations of it since he is still quite young for one. Well he sure surprised us! The first night he drank 4 oz. of juice from it and was sad when it was all gone. At one point we took the cup from him to see how much he had drank and he screamed. He wanted it back! He still needs a tiny bit of help and it does work best if he's held, but other than that he has it down! Doesn't he look like such a big boy?

Loving his juice

Pool Time!

Caden is definitely quite the fish. He LOVES the water. A few months ago we bought him a baby pool. The weekend we were able to blow it up and fill it with water. We have it up on top of the roof of our building. He enjoyed playing in the water on Sunday. He loved splashing and playing with some of the toys...especially the orange crab!
All excited about being in the pool!

Chillin'

Chewing on the orange crab...maybe he'll enjoy eating
seafood with his mommy when he gets older!

Talking away!

Such a cute face :)

6 Months Old & Teddy Bear Wrestling

Wow! It has been a long time since I posted last. Caden and I enjoyed 6 weeks in the states, while Andy enjoyed 3 weeks. We all had a great time and are looking forward to moving back the beginning of September. We are beginning to pack our things up and are planning our move back stateside :)
Caden is doing great. He is such a happy baby. Today was his 6th month well baby check up. He weighed in at 17 lbs. 3 oz. (40th percentile) and was 26 3/4 inches long (50th percentile). His head is measuring in the 75 percentile. The dr. is very happy with his growth. He hasn't rolled over from his back to his belly, but both us and pediatrician believe that is due to his reflux. Every time you lay him on his belly he throws up so what motivation does he have to want to be on his belly? He is trying to sit up on his own, but isn't quite there. He does enjoy sitting in his bumbo seat, which helps to support and strengthen his back muscles. I am sure it won't be too long until he does it on his own. He is at a really fun stage right now and is starting to enjoy playing. He loves to lay under his gym and play with all the toys. He loves to laugh and does so daily.

Playing with my bear!

Now that I'm a bit bigger and older I love to play with my bear.
