Watch Me Grow 4 Months

This has been a busy week as Caden and I have been preparing to make the long journey back to PA! He turned 4 months old on Tuesday, which meant more shots :( Then Saturday we had a Baby Shower/Picnic for some friends of ours. For Mommy and Caden this week meant 3 trips to Daegu. We like to be out and about and had to confine ourselves to the apartment Thursday and Friday to pack and prepare food for the picnic. What a week!

This set was given to us by our friends SGT Damarell and his wife. In Korea, they do not use cribs. The babies are laid on the floor. So this is a Korean bedding set. Caden was trying it out. It is a very cute set. The bottom blanket will make a nice play blanket. It also came with a teeny tiny little pillow for him to use. He seemed to like it, but I bet he prefers his crib.
Look at how big it is!
On Tuesday we had a follow-up appointment with Caden's pediatrician to make sure the constipation medicine was working properly. Since it has been working great the appointment was short and sweet. It lasted no more than 5 minutes. His new stats are: Weight-15lbs. 2 oz. and Height- 25 1/2 inches! He then had to get his shots. He was not a fan! He SCREAMED during the shots. Once we got home and Andy headed back to work he cried for most the afternoon. He was not a happy camper. Then on Saturday he spiked a 100.9 fever. Poor baby. Thankfully today he is feeling much better! Sorry the 4 month pictures are late, but it is because he wasn't feeling to well thanks to the shots.

4 Months...what happened to my little baby?

3 Months
Caden and I will be leaving Korea at 11:05 AM on Tuesday and will arrive in DC at 3:30 PM Tuesday. Our flying time will just be short of 15 hours while our overall travel time will be about 17 1/2 hours. Yikes!!! Will you say a prayer for us that the flight goes smoothly as this with be Caden's first flying experience? We look forward to seeing all of our family and friends very soon :)

What a BIG Boy!

Caden is becoming more interactive each day. He is beginning to love to lay under his rain forest gym. He seems to enjoy listening to the music, watching the lights, and looking at the different objects. He hasn't started to reach for the objects on it, but I'm sure that isn't to far away. Caden enjoying some playtime under his "gym".

Also, while we hold him he enjoys sitting and standing. He also likes to be close to where the action is. Up to this point we have had him in his swing or bouncer while we eat dinner. He has starting getting fussier with this because he likes to be close by. So last night Andy got his booster seat out. I honestly didn't think that he would like it since he isn't able to sit up on his own yet. However, he seemed to enjoy it.

Looking around

Playing with the toy attachment. He is just starting to really get interested in toys. He enjoys playing with things that are right in front of him. If they are out of his reach he does not grab for the yet.
Thank you Uncle Nathan and Mel for my new source of entertainment while Mommy and Daddy eat dinner!

Caden's Mother's Day Pics

For Mother's Day, we decided to have professional pictures taken of Caden in order to send portraits home to our Mothers for Mother's Day. Well luck would have it, the picture studio on base closed permanently for some unknown reason. We were quite disappointed! Kelli was talking to one of her friends and found out the one of the spouses at Camp George had a studio set up in her apartment and takes photos for a hobby. We contacted her and had these pictures and more taken. Caden was about 3 months old when these were taken, so they are about a month old. However, we couldn't post them until after our Moms received them. They got the pictures today. If you want to see the website of the woman who took the pictures click here; http://www.hollysweglephotography.blogspot.com/

Kelli loves "Diaper Baby"!
This one is Kelli's favorite. It has been her computer wallpaper since we got the pictures.

This is my favorite and the one we sent to my mom. I think he looks ornery.

This is the picture we gave the Great-Grandmothers!

He is getting quite chubby. What is Kelli feeding him!?

This is the picture we sent to Kelli's mom. Figured it was a good one since it had both of them in it. Kelli didn't know she was going to be in the pictures before hand.

Kelli loves the feet picture. I don't really get it. I think its a girl thing.

Playing with his hands this was about the start of him trying to put his fist in his mouth when the pacifier fell out.

Nice and Content with Mommy holding him.

Caden's Check Up and Trip to Busan

On Friday, I had Caden at the doctor for a follow up visit and his 4 month checkup (about a week and a half early). Dr. Ayer said that he is doing great and growing healthy. He did switch the constipation meds that he is on because of the side effect of his reflux medicine (yay). He weighed 14 lbs. 9.5oz (which is in the 60 %tile). He measured approximately 25 inches (75 %ile). His head measured in the 60%ile.

Today we went on a trip with our chruch here at Camp Carroll to Busan. It was my first time in Busan, which was exciting. Previous to this trip, I had never been farther south than the airport on the outskirts of Busan. The beach was very nice, however, it was not nearly as warm as it had been in Waegwan. Unfortunately we didn't have very long to hang out on the beach, but we are hoping to go back on our own in July or August. After having about a half hour on the beach we ate lunch at VIPS. It was quite tasty. Then we went on a 1 hr cruise (aka boat ride) and saw a lighthouse on top giant rocks (see picture below). It is the main lighthouse for the Busan Port.

The beach with some of the hotels surrounding the beach.

Caden's first time putting his feet in the sand. His facial expression makes it seem as though he was unsure of it, but he did not try to raise his feet up. He did wiggle is toe through it.

Hopefully not his last one....

Just enjoy the show.

Our Little Water Baby

This weekend we made a trip to Seoul. Andy had a function for work Friday night so Caden and I decided to go along and make a weekend of it. We were planning to go see a shopping area on Saturday, but the down pouring rain made us come up with other plans. All 3 of us had purchased bathing suits. We were staying at the Dragon Hill Lodge and it has a fitness center and pool. So we decided to take Caden to the pool for the first time. He did GREAT! He exceeded both of our expectations. The water was warm, but not as warm as he as used to being into for his baths. He liked it so much that we bought him an infant pool to use this summer while we are in Korea. We are both excited to spend time with him in water this summer! Looks like we will be spending a lot of the time in pools...which is right up my alley! Mommy teaching him how to swim

Isn't his outfit cute?!?

He loved kicking his legs in the water
